new plug kit is available for those who wish to utilize it. We recommend using three spade connectors (these are included with the alternator), using the wiring guide below:

Large Brown wire - cut off the ring terminal if present, strip back the wire and install a supplied yellow connector/heatshrink tube. This wire will connect to the middle LARGE terminal on the back of the alternator. This is your power wire. This is a fat wire, so the connector may be a tight fit, but you should be able to twist the wires tight enough to push it on. In some instances it is also okay to slice the yellow plastic shield off the connector with a razor blade, and open up the terminal slightly with a flat blade screwdriver to fit the wire more easily.

Small Brown wire - cut off the ring terminal if present, strip back the wire, and install a supplied yellow connector/heatshrink tube. This wire will connect to the other LARGE terminal on the back of the alternator. This is also Battery +, and used as a sense wire for the alternator's internal voltage regulator.

Small Brown with Yellow tracer wire - cut off the ring terminal if present, strip back the wire, and install the supplied blue connector/heatshrink tube. This wire will connect to the SMALL terminal on the back of the alternator. This wire is for your ignition charge light, which supplies battery power through your ignition light and back into the alternator. When the alternator is charging, you'll have + voltage coming from both ends of this wire, and the light will stay off. When the alternator is not charging, the alternator essentially becomes a ground. Battery + voltage comes through your ignition light, and grounds at the alternator, which completes the circuit, therefore causing the light to illuminate.

    Great Alternator

Installation was a snap. Slightly smaller diameter makes tension adjustment much easier and the alternator doesn't rub the radiator hose.
